Well, I did it. I ran my first 5K. Sort of.
Race day was last Saturday, 8 a.m. sharp at Giants Stadium. My father-in-law and his college buddy, a Giants season-tickets holder, had run the Draft Day 5K last year, so it seemed like a good first race for me. It was supposed to be flat, and I was running with two men nearly 30 years my senior—how could I not look good at the finish line?
