Rocky Mountain Collegiate Conference Riders Ready for Nationals
The Rocky Mountain Collegiate Cycling Conference concluded a successful mountain bike season with the conference championships in Gunnison, Colo. Hosted by Western State College, the RMCCC Championships were highlighted by both outstanding individual and team performances. Fort Lewis College will head into the USA Cycling Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships, October 26-28, as the RMCCC Division I champions. The Colorado School of Mines swept the competition to claim the Division II crown.

Swiss chemist Albert Hofmann, inventor of LSD, died yesterday at the age of 102, just 10 days after the 55th anniversary of his notorious bicycle trip while tripping on "acid". Hofmann, who suffered a heart attack at home in Basel, Switzerland, was the first person to synthesize lysergic acid diethylamide, better known as LSD, and the first human known to experience its mind-bending effects.
