Only body surfing allowed at The Wedge begins
The annual Black Ball flag at The Wedge. Another reminder summer’s almost here. It’s also a reminder for wave riders that it’s time to leave the boards in the trunk, on the car hood, or dry in the sand and paddle out the old fashioned way. Because starting today for the next six months, The Wedge is body surfing only — no flotation devices of any kind allowed for most of the day.
Ryders Hires New Marking Coordinator
NORTH VANCOUVER, British Columbia (BRAIN)Ryders Eyewear has a new marketing coordinator.
Jenya Draganov brings an outdoor industry background and fresh ideas to the value-priced eyewear manufacturer, as well as a love for climbing, kayaking, backcountry skiing, surfing and Latin American culture.
Before joining Ryders, Draganov worked in outdoor retail for eight years schlepping gear and planting trees in the Kootenay region of British Columbia.
Ryders big selling point for me is their dedication to the outdoors, Draganov said. I enjoy and understand the market Ryders is involved in and targets.
Draganov has lived in the Vancouver area since the age of 9 and graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in psychology and a minor in business.
While in college, her passion for the outdoors grew and she was a major part of UBCs Outdoor Varsity Club, organizing and handling the logistics for the clubs excursions.
Draganovs interest in Latin culture has brought her to many parts of Central and South America and she is on a path to becoming fluent in Spanish.
